After getting married in St. John, my wife and I traveled to Tortola for our Honeymoon and we were immediately blown away by the views we saw at Casa Caribe! The porch/balcony area is a beautiful sight to see, a full 180 degree view of ocean and beach. Apple Bay beach, a short 5min walk from the villa, lacked hardly any visitors (we visited during the off-season in May) which made us feel like we were totally alone in paradise! There are also several restaurants within immediate walking distance (Da'Coal Pot, Sebastians, and Sugar Mill) that we highly recommend if you choose to forego cooking one night and a nearby market across from Sebastians is available for essentials (a bit expensive, but convenient). However, renting a vehicle is almost necessary if you want to explore West End, Road Town, Smugglers Bay (beautiful beach but an adventure to get to), Josiah's Bay, Cane Garden Bay (very touristy & busy), etc. We recommend Jerry's Car Rental...they'll pick you up from the villa to their office and when you return the car they'll drop you off (super courteous staff!). The market at West End is very reasonably priced and has a huge selection. For a great romantic meal out, we suggest Brandywine Estates near Road Town (call ahead for reservations). Another recommendation is to book a snorkel tour with Aristocat Charters, a great crew and fun times.

The villa itself is pretty standard with a microwave, range, refrigerator, coffee maker (note: no oven...we learned this when we bought a frozen pizza & had to cook it on the stove, haha), Queen sized bed, and ceiling fan (no A/C, but that wasn't a problem when you have cool ocean breeze flowing into the villa). The villa was well maintained and clean, but a maid also comes mid-week to change out sheets and towels. We spent most nights on the porch swing listening to the beautiful sound of waves crashing against the wall below...simply amazing!

Overall, we would DEFINITELY recommend Casa Caribe to anyone looking for an intimate romantic getaway!! Book with confidence, because the owner's description and photos are exactly what to expect, no fluff at all.

BTW: We found it quite funny that a previous reviewer complained & dinged Casa Caribe's star rating because the sound of ocean waves at night were "too loud", HA! C'mon, you're on an island after all!  Wylie B (May 2016)

Casa Caribe was completely remodeled after Irma destroyed her, now looking better than ever before....Literally on the water's edge, Casa Caribe offers someone on a budget a spectacular Caribbean vacation spot! The views are sublime, across to Jost Van Dyke and numerous other islands as far as the eye can see. Located on Tortola's North Shore and famous for its surf, Apple Bay also offers fantastic snorkeling on a calm day...

Steps lead down from the off-road parking area to a small deck perfect for BBQing on the charcoal grill or quietly lounging on the sun lounger. Inside the unit, you enter the galley-style kitchen which overlooks the ocean of course and is equipped with a 4 burner cook top, microwave, blender, toaster and coffee-maker. The main living area offers a comfortable built-in sofa , and dining table inside. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor. The blue shuttered arched windows and mahogany louvres throughout are screened for your comfort, allowing in plenty of sea breeze to keep you cool. There is also AC if you prefer.

Two large mahogany arched doors open up to a wonderful deck where you feel you can just reach out and touch the water. Rock back and forth on the swing-bench or there is additional seating for just taking in a little sun, reading or dining al-fresco.

Up a few steps the mezzanine-style bedroom has a queen size bed that overlooks the living room and the ocean beyond....sleep to the sound of the ocean and wake to the sand in your toes and a refreshing dip just a few steps away.

The interior stays nice and cool with Hunter ceiling fans and the fully screened windows and doors which let in the fresh ocean breezes, if you prefer to turn on the AC at night you have that option also.

As you can see the decor is tasteful with a cool, coastal vibe.

There are very few villas as close to the beach as Casa Caribe, so come and relax to the sound of the ocean. Two minutes walk away, the hotel Sebastians on the Beach offers breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a small convenience store (closed right now due to Irma renovations). Big Ben's Gas Station and C&D Supermarket (convenience store) are less than 5 mins drive over Zion Hill. The Sugar Mill, Tramonti and Da Coal Pot restaurants are less than 5 mins drive in another direction. Long Bay beach and Smugglers Cove are a few minutes drive in the opposite direction.

*Please note that although Casa Caribe is on the water's edge, you do need to walk a short distance (2 mins) along the road to access the beach*

*We highly recommend that you take out travel/cancellation insurance*
