After getting married in St. John, my wife and I traveled to Tortola for our Honeymoon and we were immediately blown away by the views we saw at Casa Caribe! The porch/balcony area is a beautiful sight to see, a full 180 degree view of ocean and beach. Apple Bay beach, a short 5min walk from the villa, lacked hardly any visitors (we visited during the off-season in May) which made us feel like we were totally alone in paradise! There are also several restaurants within immediate walking distance (Da'Coal Pot, Sebastians, and Sugar Mill) that we highly recommend if you choose to forego cooking one night and a nearby market across from Sebastians is available for essentials (a bit expensive, but convenient). However, renting a vehicle is almost necessary if you want to explore West End, Road Town, Smugglers Bay (beautiful beach but an adventure to get to), Josiah's Bay, Cane Garden Bay (very touristy & busy), etc. We recommend Jerry's Car Rental...they'll pick you up from the villa to their office and when you return the car they'll drop you off (super courteous staff!). The market at West End is very reasonably priced and has a huge selection. For a great romantic meal out, we suggest Brandywine Estates near Road Town (call ahead for reservations). Another recommendation is to book a snorkel tour with Aristocat Charters, a great crew and fun times.

The villa itself is pretty standard with a microwave, range, refrigerator, coffee maker (note: no oven...we learned this when we bought a frozen pizza & had to cook it on the stove, haha), Queen sized bed, and ceiling fan (no A/C, but that wasn't a problem when you have cool ocean breeze flowing into the villa). The villa was well maintained and clean, but a maid also comes mid-week to change out sheets and towels. We spent most nights on the porch swing listening to the beautiful sound of waves crashing against the wall below...simply amazing!

Overall, we would DEFINITELY recommend Casa Caribe to anyone looking for an intimate romantic getaway!! Book with confidence, because the owner's description and photos are exactly what to expect, no fluff at all.

BTW: We found it quite funny that a previous reviewer complained & dinged Casa Caribe's star rating because the sound of ocean waves at night were "too loud", HA! C'mon, you're on an island after all!  Wylie B (May 2016)

Post-Irma update Feb 5th 2018: Casa Caribe was our first property to start it's remodel...sadly it took a huge slam from Irma BUT now we have a new roof, new furniture, new decorating...and it's only going to be cuter than ever...the remodel is almost complete and we have time to tweak things before guests arrive....book now while the beaches are quiet and the waves are uncrowded...

Literally on the water's edge, Casa Caribe offers someone on a budget a spectacular Caribbean vacation spot! The views are sublime, across to Jost Van Dyke and numerous other islands as far as the eye can see. Located on Tortola's North Shore and famous for its' surf, Apple Bay also offers fantastic snorkeling on a calm day.

Steps lead down from the off-road parking area to a small deck perfect for BBQing on the charcoal grill or quietly lounging on the sun lounger. Inside the unit, you enter the galley-style kitchen which overlooks the ocean of course and is equipped with a 4 burner cook top, microwave, blender, toaster and coffee-maker. The main living area offers 2 sofas which can be used for additional sleeping options by someone with children, and there is a dining table inside. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor. The blue shuttered arched windows and mahogany louvres throughout are screened for your comfort, allowing in plenty of sea breeze to keep you cool. There is also AC if you prefer.

Two large mahogany arched doors open up to a wonderful deck where you feel you can just reach out and touch the water. Rock back and forth on the swing-bench or there is additional seating for just taking in a little sun, reading or dining al-fresco.

Up a few steps the mezzanine-style bedroom has a queen size bed that overlooks the living room and the ocean beyond....sleep to the sound of the ocean and wake to the sand in your toes and a refreshing dip just a few steps away.

Walk to Sebastains Hotel a couple of hundred yards away for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the small convenience store.

We accept a minimum booking of 5 nights year round
Please add 10% government hotel tax
There is an additional charge of $25/nt per 3rd and 4th guest sleeping on the sofas.
