The Tides condo is made up of three 2-bedroom apartments and is a very special spot for ocean-lovers. Being THIS close to the water is a rarity on mountainous Tortola, and at Apple Tide you can virtually step out of bed and into the ocean. Located right in the heart of the quaint Caribbean village of Apple Bay, you’ll be just steps from local beachfront restaurants, world-class winter surf and great summer snorkelling.

Space
LIVING AREAS:
Apple Tide’s spacious kitchen is fully-equipped for self-catering and has floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open out onto a large terrace with ocean breezes, BBQ and dining table for 6.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
The 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds are comfortable and light, also with those stunning azure views. The 2 bathrooms means you can have one each, and both have showers.

STEP OUTSIDE:
The outdoor areas of Apple Tide are really special.
As Apple Tide is the ground floor unit, you’ll be treated to a larger terrace area complete with plenty of seating, a dining table for 6 and a BBQ. Watching the surfers catching waves and the boats sailing lazily past from this spot never gets old.
The sun deck right above the sea is a wonderful place to enjoy a sundowner as the sun sinks below the horizon and set the sky alight. You’ll also have your own private little patch of beach!

APPLE BAY (on your doorstep)
A charming little village in the West End of Tortola with world class winter surf, and you will be within walking distance of a selection of wonderful restaurants. Sebastians on the Beach is just a minutes walk away and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also has a special weekend brunch menu and can be a lively spot to spend a Thursday or Saturday night as they host Bingo and Karaoke. The Sugar Mill is a beautiful upscale boutique hotel, just a short oceanfront quarter mile walk away. The main restaurant opens for candlelit dinners and its stylish sister Tramonti is open for breakfast and lunch with a beachfront position.

CARROT BAY (0.9 miles away)
A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.

LONG BAY (0.4 miles away)
At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters and a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar and 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis and Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! There’s also gym passes & a spa for a little pampering. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12’s are free)

WINDY HILL (1.8 miles away)
Head to Stoutts Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Banakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.

SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (
Here you’ll find West End Ferry Terminal (where you can catch boats to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John and St Thomas) and a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, The Admiral Pub, Omar’s Fusion & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops and more.

SMUGGLER’S COVE (1.8 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic and perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling and is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

CANE GARDEN BAY (12 MINS DRIVE)
The buzziest beach on island, you’ll find a whole variety of Restaurants and Bars (Indigo Beach House, Elms, Paradise Bar, Myett’s plus many more) lining the water. You’ll also find a small grocery store, a white sand beach with calm swimming and options for watersports and Callwood’s Rum Distillery.*all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here, so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

Transit
TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (17.5 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.

WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (2.4 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke

Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations and any request for changes to your reservation (such as date changes or changes in the number of persons) must be made in writing by email and will be dealt with on a case for case basis.

- For cancellations received 61 days or more prior to your arrival 10% of your rental amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.

- For cancellations received 60 days or less prior to arrival 100% of your TOTAL is forfeited. If we’re able to
re-book the villa to another guest we will return to you 80% of the rent paid by the new guests for the
nights rebooked (the nights might be rented at a “last minute” discounted rate that’s less than you
originally paid).

- There will be no refund made for late arrivals or early departures.

Deposit Policy

PAYMENT POLICY
Once you reserve a property a deposit of 50% is due to confirm the reservation. The balance of 50% + the refundable damage deposit must be paid in full at least 60 days prior to your arrival. *If paying by credit card, Refundable Damage Deposits will not be charged until arrival.

This lovely loft villa was exactly what we were looking for! The view from the front porch is spectacular! The unit is equipped with everything you need to enjoy some quality time on Tortola. The owners of this property have been extremely accommodating and easy to work with throughout the reservation process. We were greeted warmly at the ferry terminal and shown right to the property- no confusion, no fumbling for maps- very easy to make the transition into island time! We enjoyed spending time at the beach at Little Apple Bay, as well as the lovely beaches nearby at Long Bay and Smuggler's Cove. The villa is close to several popular spots including the Sugar Mill restaurant, the legendary Bomba's Shack, and just over the hill from Cane Garden Bay, where we did most of our shopping at Bobby's Market and at the vendor stalls at the beach. Overall, an excellent value, and we hate to leave but will love to return! A million dollar view at a very reasonable rate. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
