Alfresco is a fabulous villa. We stayed last week with our grown children and had an amazing week. I was first attracted to this villa because of the view which is gorgeous. After researching a little more about Tortola I decided that Alfresco would fit our needs perfectly. It is located in the West End which is convenient to Soapers Hole Marina and a 45 minute ferry ride from Charlotte -Amalie. The managers, Sam and Sharlene, made everything very seamless. Sharlene and Jerry, the rental car owner, met us and immediately we were on our way to the villa. We loved every aspect of the villa. The villa is well appointed ranging from the kitchen to the pool towels and noodles. Tortola is beautiful. We snorkeled at Smuggler's Cove and Brewer's Bay, hiked Sage Mountain, guys went fishing, and we all had a day snorkel trip with Island Surf and Sail. The restaurants were delicious...Bananakeet Cafe, Tropical Fusion, dCoal Pot, Sugar Mill, Fish and Lime Inn. Sharlene and Sam's recommendations were on target. We were very spoiled by the spectacular sunsets...not sure if we can ever find another accommodation that offers as much as Alfresco. We will be back! PS We had our little night watchman...every night outside the master a chickenhawk would roost under the eaves. It was such a treat to see him there every evening!

On the mountainous island of Tortola, to find a villa that is close enough to walk to the beach and have a spectacular view is a feat in itself. Completed in December 2012, Alfresco has been finished to a very high standard under the watchful eye of the owners who are an English couple who fell in love with Tortola many years ago. And with a genuine love of the local fauna, the owners have nurtured a lush tropical garden mostly from cuttings. The 3 very private bedrooms offer comfortable alone-time with ocean views, while the living room, porches and pool deck offer a variety of lounging arrangements for your relaxing vacation with friends or family. Large screened sliding doors throughout make for a spacious and airy flow.
The concrete driveway sweeps gracefully up to the villa, with parking and turning space and steps lead to the large, welcoming mahogany front door. Once inside, your view looks straight down onto the living room and ocean views beyond. In front of you is the well-apppointed kitchen which in turn leads onto a covered dining porch above the pool deck. Furnished with Indonesian teak furniture throughout, and decorated in a neutral palette with splashes of color, the fabulous views remain the focal point. The beautiful dark stained woodwork throughout is the perfect accent.
The living room has 2 very comfortable sofas, DirectTV, a stereo with wall-mounted speakers and ipod connections, a selection of books, games and DVDs and 2 sets of very large screen doors. Then walk out to the pool deck, the central hub of the property. With six sun loungers, an outdoor shower, and a gas BBQ and dining area, the deck offers both sun and shade, as well as calming azure views. There is also a half-bathroom and outdoor shower off the pool deck.
All bedrooms are ocean facing, fully-screened and also offer AC. The bathrooms all have wonderfully large fully tiled showers.
The master suite and second bedroom are in a second pavilion at the end of the pool deck. Upstairs, the spacious master suite offers a king size four-poster bed, 2 porches and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
Downstairs, adjacent to the pool deck, the second bedroom has twin beds (which can be made up as a comfortable king size bed), and en-suite bathroom with shower. Perfect for guests who prefer to avoid steps when possible.
The pretty third bedroom is accessed by steps down from the pool deck and offers a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. This bedroom is nice and private.

Enjoy the comfort of Alfresco and the ease of it's location in Long Bay. The walk down the hill to the beach is an easy 10 minutes, Long Bay Beach is a mile of white sand, perfect for a bit of exercise! Smugglers Cove (less than 5 minutes' drive west) is idyllic and perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling. Apple Bay (a couple of minutes' drive East) offers world-class surf. August'18 update on restaurants etc in West End: Sebastians beachfront restaurant (Apple Bay 3or 4 minute drive), Da Coal Pot (Carrot Bay, 5 mins drive) for great authentic Caribbean dishes as well as great steak and pasta etc. BananaKeet (Carrot bay, 10 min drive) for the best sunset views, cocktails and dinners. D Best Cup (Soper's Hole, 10 min drive) for awesome breakfast and lunch. Pussers Landing (Soper's Hole, 10 min drive) for limited menu in upstairs make-shift restaurant- pizza, wings, burgers etc. Big Bens Gas Station (8am - 5pm) is convenient and C&D Supermarket (7.30am - 8.30pm daily) at West End is useful for a large selection of convenience items.
