LOVELY VILLA IN SPECTACULAR SETTING
We agree completely with the numerous other positive reviews. They are so uniformly excellent that there is no need for a repeat. We found that the compact architectural layout of the main structure/pool deck/guest room fit beautifully for the two of us and would for four as well. It was all extremely comfortable for our needs. The kitchen appeared fully equipped, but we chose to eat dinners out. (The excellent meals at the nearby Sugar Mill restaurant became our regular choice.) We have cruised these waters several times but this was our first on-island stay. Reviews elsewhere had warned that our rented Suzuki Jimney would be significantly underpowered on numerous stretches, as indeed it was. Our next trip will opt for a model with increased horsepower. We learned that it helps to bring your sense of humor and adventure when negotiating the numerous switchbacks and frequently very steep pitches so characteristic of the hillside back roads (roads?). Samantha & JC at Villas of Tortola provided uniformly prompt and excellent assistance with questions during our planning and booking process. Dede's rental provided smooth car drop off and pickup. If in the area do not fail to enjoy very nearby Smuggler's Cove. This beautiful beach and its extensive sandy swimming area are not to be missed.

One of our most popular and celebrated romantic retreats, The Captain's House is a picturesque two-bedroom private villa, neatly perched high up on the hillside over the golden beaches of Long Bay.
Welcoming you to The Captain's House is a long driveway bordered by abundant colorful bougainvillea. The Villa's inviting pool is the central focal point and separates the property into two pavilions, ensuring maximum privacy for the guests. The East pavilion offers one king bed (or two twin beds, the choice is yours), with en suite bathroom and private outdoor shower with a private balcony.
On the far side of the pool, you will find the main pavilion - Large sliding patio doors on two of the walls keep the quietly tropically themed living-room nice and cool. Comfortable seating, a SmartTV (no satellite or cable) and a telescope offer a change from the glare of the sun. A convenient breakfast bar separates the living room from the fully-equipped kitchen inc. dishwasher. When you have finished lounging by the pool, a large covered loggia offers shade form the burning sun. This shady spot is newly furnished with beautiful brightly cushioned furniture.......a sofa and armchair arrangement as well as a dining table.
Boasting an outdoor shower with ocean views and a private balcony, the master bedroom suite shares the same, impressive 16-foot cathedral ceilings as the living room and other bedroom. Wake up in your king size bed to the sight of the ocean with lush green islands on the horizon.
With stunning panoramic views of Long Bay, Smuggler's Cove, Gun Point and the outlying Islands of Jost van Dyke and Sandy Cay - The Captain's House is an ideal getaway for honeymooners, an anniversary trip or just a holiday with your children. The elevation of the property on the side of the hill definitely gives the villa a very calm and quiet atmosphere.
