We were a party of 4 adults and 3 teenagers to Flamingo Sunset for spring break.  The spot could not have been better - the kids enjoyed their downstairs space and the pool.  The back porch was ideal for both watching the beautiful sunsets and enjoying coffee in the morning.  The location on the island proved to be perfect for us - close to Smugglers Cove and Long Bay Beach, short ride to Sopers Hole for shopping and catching our charter boat.  We would definitely recommend Flamingo Sunset and Tortola!   Lisa C (Spring 2016)

Flamingo Sunset is quite simply the perfect choice for anyone wanting a taste of the Caribbean lifestyle. The spectacular views of Jost Van Dyke and neighbouring islands and the indoor / outdoor flow are the key elements with every room leading to a deck or porch. Furnished throughout with striking teak furniture personally chosen in Bali by the owners, the decor is more of a tasteful nod to the Tropics than an overpowering theme - the stunning views take centre stage. Equal parts attractive, comfortable and relaxing, Flamingo Sunset was built in 2014, and executed to a very high standard - to the specifications of an owner who is a contractor himself. You are elevated enough to have far-reaching views but close enough to sea-level to be able to access the beach easily, even by foot it is just a 10 minute walk down to Long Bay and maybe 15 minutes back (uphill some of the way!)                                              




Fully air-conditioned throughout, the abundance of glass sliding doors and windows brings the outdoors in if you feel the need to keep cool in the AC. And if you prefer to let in the soft coastal breezes open up to allow a soothing flow throughout the villa.  

The upper entry level has vaulted ceilings throughout the main living area and the 2 bedrooms which are accessed to the left and right. The custom cabinetry and kitchen island make the kitchen an attractive feature of this living space with a dining table and comfortable seating area. A second dining option is conveniently located just through the glass sliding doors and overlooking the pool. 

The master bedroom and 2nd bedrooms are located either side of the living area on the main floor. The Master offers a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a corner bath. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twins beds that can be pushed together to make a king, and a bathroom with shower. 

The lower level and pool deck is accessed by stairs on the North side of the upper deck. A second shaded alfresco dining table is located poolside accompanied by sun loungers for the sun-seekers!

The 3rd and 4th bedrooms are located either side of the pool deck, one furnished with a comfortable king bed and the other with twin beds that can be made up as a king. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom of course, one of these can be unlocked to access directly from the pool deck if you wish. 

For your convenience we have 2 x single foam pull-outs in one of the bedrooms, a washer and dryer available for your use, wifi and a SmartTV with Netflix in the living room.

Back-ground on the BVIs....The majority of the Virgin Islands were formed by intense volcanic activity millennia ago. They are steep-sided with tall, forest-covered hills which form a beautiful backdrop of green.

Tortola is around 12 miles long and 2 miles wide. White-sand beaches and over 40 miles of crystal clear water surround it. West End Ferry Terminal is just 10 minutes away, perfect if you are arriving by ferry or water-taxi from St Thomas. Opposite the ferry dock we have the beautiful Soper's Hole Marina which offers a couple of waterside restaurants, a well-stocked grocery store and some gift/clothing shops. This is the best spot for day-sails and boat rental pick-ups. 

To the East is Long Bay, a mile-long white sand beach (3 or 4 minute drive), and Apple Bay (5 or 6 minute drive) for the avid surfers! There are many good restaurants within 15 minutes drive, choose from fine-dining at The Sugar Mill, low-key authentic West-Indian dishes at Da Coal Pot, best sunset views on the island at Bananakeet....and everything in between!
