PERSIE’S DECK HOUSE – Caribbean treehouse
Persie’s Deck House is named after Persie Fischer who first visited the island in 1981. She purchased the
house from a man known as “Rasta Mike” and began to renovate. Legend has it, that Rasta Mike was
good friends with Bob Marley and they often hung out in this very house. Feeling the vibes??
Persie spent nearly 30 years visiting and fixing up the house in conjunction with her daughter Julie who
did all of the design. There are a number of pictures in the house featuring Persie (in her trademark grey
curly hair). After Persie passed, the house has been used by the family and remains that way. We are
delighted that you to can enjoy our favorite get away. This home is a rustic no-frills wooden spot that’s priced accordingly. Cute Caribbean style, a wooden structure painted in a rainbow of tropical colours, with space for up to 6 guests, in a great location just steps from beautiful Long Bay beach and a couple of restaurants.
Our team at Villas of Tortola would love to welcome you!

😍 WE WORK DOUBLE-TIME TO MAKE SURE YOU ENJOY “ISLAND TIME”!
✈️ TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (17.6 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.
⛴️ WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (2.5 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke
⛴️ ROAD TOWN FERRY TERMINAL
Here you can catch ferries to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas) and fellow British Virgin Islands (Anegada & Virgin Gorda)
⛵ SOPER’S HOLE MARINA, LIGHTHOUSE MARINA & NANNY CAY MARINA
Arriving by boat & looking for dock space? Try these marinas nearby.
🚗 Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.
