Villas of Tortola is truly a family business started over twenty years ago by me, Sam and my husband JC. I fled the chilly shores of England in 1999 in search of eternal sunshine and arrived in Tortola – the best decision I ever made! Not only did I discover the tropical paradise that is the British Virgin Islands, but also almost immediately met my future husband who’d arrived here years earlier searching for the perfect wave.
Nearly 25 years later we’ve built a successful business and have brought up our children here. Our company started with JC managing one gorgeous villa and somehow snowballed to both of us managing 30+ of the most fabulous properties on Tortola (many of which are exclusively available through us and nowhere else online).
Needless to say we couldn’t have grown successfully without the skills and dedication of Sharlene and Pinky who many of you adore!! And of course there’s a small army of lovely housekeepers, gardeners, pool technicians, electricians, plumbers etc. who keep things running smoothly and fix anything that goes awry.
It hasn’t always been an easy ride. With COVID coming hard on the heels of Irma, a devastating hurricane that destroyed so much of the island’s infrastructure, its sometimes seemed like an uphill battle. But as the saying goes, what doesn’t break us makes us stronger. We’ve survived thanks to the support of our incredible property owners and guests, many of whom are genuine friends.
