Vista do Mar is one of a collection of attractive, free-standing villas nestled into the slopes of Long Bay, West End. The stunning North-facing views encompass Jost Van Dyke and smaller islands. Formerly part of Long Bay Beach Resort, the entire development is surrounded by bright, tropical landscaping and bordered by the mile long white sand beach…..your villa is just a few minutes’ walk from the sand and turquoise water….as well as a couple of beach-front restaurants.
While almost identical in design and layout, the interiors of these privately-owned villas have all been decorated differently and each has ocean views due to their positioning on the hillside. With comfortable king-sized beds, AC, hi-speed WIFI, refrigerators and satellite or FLOW cable TV in all units, you have all the comforts of home – but you’re in the beautiful BVI!!
Attractive furniture lends a Caribbean feel and with the ocean views and the sound of the waves, you can’t help but to feel relaxed – a 2 or 3 minute walk and you are on the beach.
The Penthouse unit has a lofty open studio-style layout with a high vaulted ceiling and lots of sunlight. There’s plenty of space with a king-size bed, 2 comfortable lounge chairs, a small workspace, AC and cable TV and hi-speed WIFI.
The unit was recently upgraded (Nov’22) with beautiful custom built bunk-beds and closet in a little annexe off the main room. We accept a maximum of 2 guests in the Penthouse. When the entire villa is rented, the bunkbeds provide accommodation for up to 6 guests.
The bathroom has also been remodelled beautifully, the spacious layout affords a double vanity with 2 basins, a large custom shower and a dressing area with drawers and ample hanging closet.

The SeaView unit is the larger suite, with a bedroom, bathroom, and open-plan kitchen/living area. But what really steals the show is an awesome pool and BBQ deck that’s bordered by hibiscus hedges and overhanging bougainvillea and is the envy of the neighbours!
The bedroom is spacious and has a king-sized bed and AC. The adjacent bathroom has a shower and closet space.
The kitchen area has a cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker and blender. The living room offers comfortable seating, an ample work space and FLOW cable TV and hi-speed WIFI. It’s separated from the kitchen with a sociable breakfast bar and island.

The spacious deck has a covered dining area with a teak dining set for 6, a built-in gas BBQ, as well as a couple of loungers in the sun next to the pool.

My wife and I have been to Tortola with friends, but this was the first time bringing our 3 kids (twins age 9, and our oldest age 11). The house is located right on Longbay with amazing views, access to multiple beaches, and everything the BVI has to offer. The home was clean, well appointed, and had several “little extras” that made our stay better than expected. You will not be disappointed renting this home. Our stay was Spring, 2024. “Wonderful communication throughout with Greg and his team. They were always responsive, helped us with stocking the house before we arrived and arranging for a driver to bring us from the ferry straight to the house. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The house is amazing, infinity pool and gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains, ocean and beach. We really enjoyed grilling and hanging out on the deck. There are a couple of good restaurants about a five minute walk away as well. We rented a car and went all over the island, and spent one day on a catamaran cruise snorkeling and visiting island bars. Perfect vacation! (Lori A 29th November 2023)
We had a great stay here in Long bay. The home was beautiful, ocean views from every window. A beautiful master bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable beds. A relaxing pool deck with infinity pool which overlooks sunset. Sam the property manger was extremely helpful with helping organize the pre travel covid requirements, then meeting us at the ferry terminal, and guiding us to the air bnb to give us an official tour. Just a few minutes walk to long bay beach, nestled in the hills with the most fantastic view. Perfect for a family of four, parents stayed in the upstairs villa, and the kids had the bedroom down stairs both with separate bathrooms. We cooked multiple dinners in the kitchen/grill, and enjoyed dinning at the large table on the covered pool deck. We are family of 4 so we got two bedrooms – upstairs and main floor. Both floors have a gorgeous view of the ocean and decorations and furniture are modern and stylish. The beds were very comfortable and spacious. The beach is only 5 minutes of walk and very quite and beautiful. We enjoyed Gregory’s place so much that we can’t wait back there again. This was our third trip to the BVI, and each time we’ve gone we’ve found another rental to try next time that we thought would improve our experience… until now. The Villas at Long Bay are well appointed, roomy, clean, have air conditioning (YAY!), and most importantly for us, in the absolute best location in all of Tortola (Tortola is also the best island to use as a base for island hopping). We took walks on the mile-long white sand beach of Long Bay almost every day, and we were often the only people on the beach (that won’t last long, but it was fantastic for us!). We were also a short drive to the best beach on the island, Smugglers Cove. This was our first time having air conditioning, and while we preferred to not turn it on in the living/kitchen area so we could leave the sliding doors open to hear the waves below us, it helped us sleep so much better having it on in the bedroom. And the king bed was very comfortable for both of us. Loved sitting in the comfy chairs in the living room or on the patio, soaking in the amazing views. We will definitely come back here in the future. We stayed the second half of May, and while the islands are still recovering from the hurricanes, and likely will be for a long time, don’t let it put you off. There are plenty of restaurants and businesses open. If you want to sail and/or experience the best snorkeling, I’d contact Kuralu or Aristocat and book a day sail to the Norman Caves and the Indians as early as possible. We tried to do it last minute, but there weren’t enough people booked to go out. When we were here two years ago, the Caves and Indians were the best snorkel we did, and a lot of the good spots have been affected by the storms, but still worth the effort.
