Ferries inter-connect BVI making it easy to travel between the islands. Again, information can be hard to come by, so we have made you a list below. Bad weather (and a fair amount of ‘unforeseen circumstances’) can affect schedules – so it’s always worth checking the Facebook pages for updates or heading down to the Road Town Ferry Harbour and asking at the booths.
There are two ferry companies, SPEEDY’S and SENSATIONS that run services between Tortola and Virgin Gorda. Depending on days and times, you can either go from Road Town or Trellis Bay, Beef Island.
From Road Town it takes around 25 mins and from Trellis around 15. The cost is $30 return.
The ferry to Anegada seems to be particularly elusive. It should alternate between SMITH’S FERRIES and ROAD TOWN FAST FERRY and leave from Road Town 3 times a week.
It is definitely worth calling the companies below to double check that it’s running.
It sometimes stops in Virgin Gorda and takes between and hour and 90 minutes.
The NEW HORIZON ferry to Jost Van Dyke only takes 15 minutes and conveniently leaves from the West End Ferry Harbour (very close to most of our villas). $40 return.
