LIVING AREAS
Gestalt really is one of a kind. The luxurious but understated materials & decor, and use of gently sweeping curves create an elegant flow. It feels as if you are floating around this property, with each room seamlessly blending into the next.
Gestalt is the embodiment of open-air living, and the 2 ‘indoor’ generous and comfortable lounge areas are covered, but the sides are open to the azure views and soundscapes of tree frogs & tropical birds.
The kitchen also allows the ocean breezes in through its glassless windows & is fully equipped with top-end appliances (including BBQ Grill) for making slap-up dinners. You can enjoy the meals from a variety of places: the sociable breakfast bar which separates the lounge room from the kitchen, the picture-perfect dining area just outside the kitchen (again, covered but open on the sides, the views are particularly incredible up here), or the ridiculously romantic stone entrance courtyard.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
The bedroom wing offers 3 king bedrooms and 1 queen, each with its own en suite bathroom and private outdoor shower for the ultimate Caribbean experience. Brushing your teeth whilst gazing at the ocean never get old.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned and decorated elegantly but simply in fresh light colours with exotic woods and pops of colourful artwork and soft furnishings.
STEP OUTSIDE
A true paradise, Gestalt is set within a beautifully tended garden of lush tropical flowers and fruit trees. Spending your days surrounded by such beauty is a gift for the soul.
Gestalt’s fabulous (and spacious) pool and BBQ deck overlook the glistening channel towards Little Thatch and St John beyond. It’s a fabulous boat-watching spot as they drift in and out of Soper’s Hole Marina below. A private path leads the inquisitive explorer to a private dock (shared with neighbouring Blackbeard’s Hideaway) where you can snorkel and swim along the craggy coast. Like we said, it’s one of a kind.
Gestalt is part of Steele Point Estate, a privately owned eight-acre estate that occupies the entire western peninsula of Tortola. There are three other villas on the estate – Steele Point Villa, Blackbeard’s Hideaway and Treehouse – all of which can be rented individually or combined.

If you fancy stretching your legs for just over a mile you can walk to the very handy Soper’s Hole Marina. Here you’ll find West End Ferry Terminal (where you can catch boats to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John and St Thomas) and a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, Admiral’s Pub & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops and more.
APPLE BAY (3 miles away)
A little village with world-class winter surf & a handful of bars and restaurants (Nardie’s Beach Bar at Sebastian’s, The Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.
CARROT BAY (3.8 miles away)
A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.
SMUGGLER’S COVE (4.5 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic & perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling & is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.
LONG BAY (3.5 miles away)
At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand & turquoise waters & a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar & 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis & Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! Gym passes also available as well as a spa for a little pampering. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12’s are free)
WINDY HILL (4.7 miles away)
Head to Stoutt’s Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Bananakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.
CANE GARDEN BAY (6 miles away)
The buzziest beach on island, you’ll find a whole variety of restaurants, bars & nightlife (Indigo Beach House, Elms, Paradise Bar, Myett’s plus many more) lining the water. You’ll also find a small grocery store, a white sand beach with calm swimming and options for watersports and Callwood’s Rum Distillery. *all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here, so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (19 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.

Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.
