Being this close to the ocean on mountainous Tortola is an island rarity & you’ll find sweeping ocean views from every corner. You are guaranteed state of the art amenities & breathtaking indoor & outdoor spaces that seamlessly flow into one another. Chilling out has never been so easy.

The layout consists of three floors & you enter on the top one. The entrance & one of the bedrooms are on the top floor, the living room, kitchen, pool deck & primary bedroom suite are on the middle floor & the remaining two bedrooms are on the bottom floor.

LIVING AREAS
You won’t be short of places to relax in at Hawksbill House. Comfy seating areas are dotted around the property, meaning there’s a cosy nook to hide away & read a book in or enjoy a morning coffee for everyone. The main living room however sits sociably at the far end of the huge open-plan kitchen area on the middle floor. You’ll find modern Caribbean flourishes, a generous sized L shape sofa & enormous folding glass doors open one side of the room up to the incredible pool terrace & dazzling ocean views. If you can bear to look away from the glimmering sea, there’s a flat screen TV with Cable for your enjoyment.

Powerful ceiling fans & gentle ocean breezes keep you cool while you cook up a storm in the fully equipped kitchen. Designed for effortless entertaining, there’s a breakfast bar for grabbing a quick bite to eat or you’re just steps away from the covered alfresco dining table. Top quality stainless steel appliances like double fridge/ freezer, Breville espresso machine & dishwasher makes catering for a group a breeze, leaving you more time to rest & recharge.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
The 4 bedrooms & bathrooms are split over the 3 floors of Hawksbill House, making each suite its own secluded sanctuary.

1) The first bedroom you come to is on the top floor (this is the floor on which you enter the property). Breezy & bright, this bedroom also has ocean views, AC & a private balcony at the foot of your bed. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous with double sinks, large walk-in shower and the wonderful addition of a tropical greenery-surrounded outdoor shower. There’s also a private living room/ seating area overlooking the ocean!

2) The Primary suite is pure bliss, located in its own private cottage on the middle floor (same floor as the kitchen/ living room & pool terrace). This calming retreat offers air conditioning & a king-sized bed that you won’t even have to get out of to get stunning ocean views. Its location on the property means you have easy access to the expansive terraces & you’ll also be able to enjoy your own private balcony. This is the perfect spot for watching the boats sail lazily into the marina with a morning coffee. The bathroom has double sinks & a window in the shower framing the azure vistas.

3&4) The next two bedrooms are on the bottom floor (beneath the pool terrace). You’ll of course have sweeping ocean views from both and comfy air conditioned rooms & private bathrooms with double sinks & walk in showers. You can enjoy peaceful moments on your private balconies and both even have their own comfy living rooms. These two bedrooms are also special because being on the bottom floor means direct access to the boat dock & private beach area – what more could you want!

STEP OUTSIDE
Like any great vacation villa, the outdoor spaces at Hawksbill House are just as spectacular as the indoors. An expansive pool terrace with infinity edge pool, looking as if it spills right into the ocean is surely where you’ll spend much of your day (or catching some rays on the loungers beside it). The covered alfresco dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy dinners with friends & it’s built-in gas grill, wet bar & easy access to the kitchen make entertaining smooth & simple.

Now, on to your private dock. As we said earlier, the docking facilities are unparalleled & incredibly rare to come by providing stress-free access directly to the ocean. Hawksbill House features a premier L-shaped dock and additional mooring, accommodating boats over 80 feet with drafts exceeding 10 feet. This really is an incredible addition – making travelling to & from the property a breeze. There is so much to see in BVI& this means you can roll out of bed & be exploring another island in minutes!

If all that wasn’t enough, there’s also a private beach for swimming or snorkelling…like we said, Hawksbill House is one of a kind.

Hawksbill House’s little sister, Hawksbill Cottage (sleeps 6) is just the other side of the road & can be rented together with the cottage for larger groups

Hawksbill House is in a prime location – just a few minutes walk down to Soper’s Hole Marina and it’s wonderful amenities.

SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (440 yds away)

If you fancy stretching your legs, a short walk down the hill will take you to the very handy Soper’s Hole Marina. Here you’ll find West End Ferry Terminal (where you can catch boats to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John and St Thomas) and a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, Admiral’s Pub & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, Driftwood Spa and more.

APPLE BAY (2.5 miles away)

A little village with world-class winter surf & a handful of bars and restaurants (Nardie’s Beach Bar at Sebastian’s, The Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.

CARROT BAY (3.3 miles away)

A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.

SMUGGLER’S COVE (4 miles away)

Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic & perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling & is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

LONG BAY (3 miles away)

At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters and a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar and 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis and Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! They also offer gym passes & spa treatments for a little pampering. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12’s are free)

Transit
TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (19 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.

WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (0.7 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke

ROAD TOWN FERRY TERMINAL
Here you can catch ferries to  the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas) and fellow British Virgin Islands (Anegada & Virgin Gorda)

Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations and any request for changes to your reservation (such as date changes or changes in the number of persons) must be made in writing by email and will be dealt with on a case for case basis.

- For cancellations received 61 days or more prior to your arrival 10% of your rental amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.

- For cancellations received 60 days or less prior to arrival 100% of your TOTAL is forfeited. If we’re able to
re-book the villa to another guest we will return to you 80% of the rent paid by the new guests for the
nights rebooked (the nights might be rented at a “last minute” discounted rate that’s less than you
originally paid).

- There will be no refund made for late arrivals or early departures.

Deposit Policy

PAYMENT POLICY
Once you reserve a property a deposit of 50% is due to confirm the reservation. The balance of 50% + the refundable damage deposit must be paid in full at least 60 days prior to your arrival. *If paying by credit card, Refundable Damage Deposits will not be charged until arrival.
