Patois, a villa which is truly an escape from reality. An oasis nestled amongst Tortola’s lush mountains, it’s like you’re in a secret tropical paradise but are just 5 mins from Long Bay’s beach & restaurants.

LIVING AREAS:
3 pavilions make up this property. In the first, you’ll find light and airy living spaces, with a comfortable and welcoming sitting room decorated in cooling blues and fresh greens, wooden louvre doors, floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views and a TV for those moments of downtime. There’s a spacious kitchen and a fabulous dining area which is roofed but open on three sides, perfect for dinner with an ocean vista. Enjoy pre-dinner cocktails in the adjacent sitting porch, and watch the sun drop below the horizon with one of our famous fiery BVI sunsets. These three rooms are positioned in a line with one leading into another making for sociable and convenient open-plan style living.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
1&2) Downstairs, you’ll find an inviting and spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. There’s also a separate bedroom with a full-size bed between the bedroom and bathroom, that’s perfect for a younger child (9th guest).
3,4&5) The remaining bedrooms make up the other 2 pavilions, all with private porches and ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom in the 2nd pavilion has a king-sized bed and a bath for soaking in after a hard days relaxing. There are two more bedrooms in the 3rd pavilion, one with a king-sized bed and the other a queen. All the bedrooms also have outdoor showers so that if you choose to, you can start your day by being serenaded by Tortola’s vibrant wildlife.
STEP OUTSIDE:
You can almost smell the soothing scent of fresh lavender as Patois’ soft purple walls wrap around your outdoor living space. Bask in the rays of the Caribbean sun or cool down in the shade in the various seating areas dotted around the property. Just beyond the pool, a fantastic little grotto sits amidst the stonework and is an absolute favourite spot to hang out.
The pool is of course central to any vacation villa, and Patois has the perfect setup with a half bath with shower, wet bar, BBQ, al fresco dining table and sun loungers surrounding it.
Guests have sole access to the entire property.

🏡 Patois’ sister villa Cohoba is just a couple of minutes away making it the perfect option for if you have a larger group of friends or family.

Patois is located in the exclusive but welcoming rural estate of Belmont. You can drive to two beautiful beaches (Smuggler’s Cove and Long Bay) in 5/10 minutes or take a pretty walk down but a fairly strenuous one up! Belmont Salt Pond below is a natural reserve and important ecosystem that regularly attracts flamingos (there are 8 there this week as I write this).

At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters and a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar and 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis and Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! (Pool passes are not currently available).
🏖️🍴SMUGGLER’S COVE (0.7 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic and perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling and is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

A little village with world-class winter surf and a handful of bars and restaurants (Sebastian’s Seaside Grille, Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.
🥭🍴CARROT BAY (2 miles away)
A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.
🍴WINDY HILL (2.9 miles away)
Head to Stoutts Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Banakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.
⛴️🍴🛒SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (3.5 miles away)
Here you’ll find West End Ferry Terminal (where you can catch boats to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John and St Thomas) and a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, Omar’s Fusion & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops and more.

The buzziest beach on island, you’ll find a whole variety of Restaurants and Bars (Indigo Beach House, Elms, Paradise Bar, Myett’s plus many more) lining the water. You’ll also find a small grocery store, a white sand beach with calm swimming and options for watersports and Callwood’s Rum Distillery. *all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here, so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

✈️ TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (18.6 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.
⛴️ WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (3.5 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke
🚗 Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.
