‘Sans Souci’ translates to ‘without worries’ & we can see why. Situated in a prestigious West End estate, the views of the glimmering ocean & neighbour islands are truly spectacular. Nestled amongst tropical palms, it’s a tranquil oasis.

Homely & welcoming with great amenities, you may want to stay put. However the desirable location means you’re within 10 mins of beaches, restaurants, bars, shops, surf, ferries & more!

LIVING AREAS
The neutral tones, Caribbean style paintings by local artists & beautiful quality Balinese teak furniture lends a calming backdrop for the views to take centre stage.

On the ground floor the remodeled kitchen is well equipped with stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer and all the gadgets you need. The Dining room offers seating for 8 and large sliding doors and screens on 2 walls providing light and breezes and the amazing ocean views. The living room has plenty of comfy seating, also has azure vistas and, if you can bear to tear your eyes away from them, a 55″ SmartTV with FLOW cable and DVD player for your entertainment needs.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
1) The new primary suite on the ground floor is a wonderful addition making this villa perfectly comfortable for just one couple without feeling overwhelmingly large. Everything about this suite is luxurious….from the king-size teak four-poster bed and built-in closets to the striking bathroom with double vanity and walk-in shower. Add to that the sliding doors at the foot of the bed that lead directly to the pool a few feet away…it’s got to be the best way to wake up there is!

2) On the first floor you’ll find the remaining bedrooms. Sleep like royalty in the gorgeous teak sleigh bed in the spacious king suite with walk-in closet and large bathroom with double vanity and shower. Sliding doors led onto the upper wraparound deck with the same mesmerizing views.

3) A 3rd bedroom with queen bed and built-in closets again offers the ocean views and breezes with the large sliding doors at the foot of the bed. A bathroom with shower located on the landing is shared by this bedroom and anyone who might be staying the office, although there is also a half bathroom is also located on the ground floor.

4) The office is not only the perfect WFH space (with hi-speed internet) but also has a futon (making a total of 8 guests) & its own AC unit. It’s also located on the first floor and is nice and spacious and looks out to the pool and the ocean beyond. It too has access to the wraparound upper porch.

STEP OUTSIDE
You’re definitely going to be enjoying the great outdoors at Sans Souci, the views really are breath-taking. They can be enjoyed from multiple comfy loungers and seating arrangements around the villa, whether it’s sun or shade you’re after. The wraparound deck accessed from the living & dining room has an alfresco dining table which is a magical place to share meals with your family & friends with an ocean breeze.

The grilling deck (both gas and charcoal BBQ’s available) is the perfect spot to grill up a local Anegada lobster as the sun sinks below the horizon. The infinity edge pool is an idyllic location for a cooling dip with a drink or a book at any time of the day. NOTE: The smaller oval part of the pool is NOT a jacuzzi or hot tub! We’ve said it before, but the views really are magnificent and these are the things that make ‘Sans Souci’ or ‘Without Worries’ the perfect name for this gorgeous villa.

Notes
NOTE: The drive up to Sans Souci is particularly steep. Tortola is mountainous & the road up is definitely for more confident drivers. This drive would NOT be suitable for someone with vertigo! Your vehicle MUST have 4WD, it’s absolutely necessary on the hills when it rains.

NOTE: The smaller oval part of the pool is NOT a jacuzzi or hot tub!

AC: There is both AC & ceiling fans throughout

GENERATOR: The automatic-start generator is a great plus for any pesky power outages

HOUSEKEEPING: is once a week. All linen and towels will be changed and a general cleaning will be done. Daily housecleaning can be arranged at your own expense.

PARKING: There is driveway parking for your convenience – no long slog with shopping bags or suitcases!

Neighborhood
Sans Souci is in the exclusive but welcoming gated community of Towers Estate in the West End of Tortola. It has a friendly community feel with a good mix of residents and tourists.

APPLE BAY (1.7 miles away)
A little village with world-class winter surf and a handful of bars and restaurants (Nardie’s Beach Bar, Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.

LONG BAY (2.2 miles away)
At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand and turquoise waters and a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar and 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis and Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12’s are free)

SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (2.5 miles away)
Here you’ll find a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, Admiral’s Pub & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops, Driftwood Spa & more. West End Ferry Terminal is opposite (where you can catch ferries & water taxis to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John & St Thomas). Enquire with Soper’s Hole Marina & Lighthouse Marina for dock space if you have a boat.

CARROT BAY (2.5 miles away)
A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.

SMUGGLER’S COVE (3.1 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic & perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling & is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

WINDY HILL (3.4 miles away)
Head to Stoutt’s Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Bananakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.

CANE GARDEN BAY (4.7 miles away)
The buzziest beach on island, you’ll find a whole variety of Restaurants & Bars (Indigo Beach House, Elms, Paradise Bar, Myett’s plus many more) lining the water. You’ll also find a small grocery store, a white sand beach with calm swimming & options for watersports & Callwood’s Rum Distillery. *all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here, so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

Transit
TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (16.5 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.

WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (2.6 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke

Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations and any request for changes to your reservation (such as date changes or changes in the number of persons) must be made in writing by email and will be dealt with on a case for case basis.

- For cancellations received 61 days or more prior to your arrival 10% of your rental amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.

- For cancellations received 60 days or less prior to arrival 100% of your TOTAL is forfeited. If we’re able to
re-book the villa to another guest we will return to you 80% of the rent paid by the new guests for the
nights rebooked (the nights might be rented at a “last minute” discounted rate that’s less than you
originally paid).

- There will be no refund made for late arrivals or early departures.

Deposit Policy

PAYMENT POLICY
Once you reserve a property a deposit of 50% is due to confirm the reservation. The balance of 50% + the refundable damage deposit must be paid in full at least 60 days prior to your arrival. *If paying by credit card, Refundable Damage Deposits will not be charged until arrival.

What a property! Situated at the west end of Tortola, this house has the most incredible views of the western BVI and USVI, and is equipped for a warm, welcoming, and luxurious stay. We spent 7 amazing nights here, using the house as a base for exploring the islands - using ferries, charters, and private rentals to see everything from JvD to the Baths, VG, and Norman island. Every evening we came home to the gorgeous endless pool, and a view that will stay with me forever. The house is well equipped, and with Sam kindly provisioning for our first couple of days, we arrived to a fridge full of food and drink. Could not have wished for a better stay - will be back for sure!

My friends and I recently stayed at Sam’s villa for an extended weekend. Let me start off by saying that Sam is so extremely helpful with every question that you could possibly have! Communication between myself and Sam was such a breeze and he helped to organize grocery delivery and taxis. The villa is remarkable and we could have honestly stayed in the whole time and enjoyed ourselves there. The views, especially at sunset, are truly breathtaking. The entire place is clean and has pretty much everything you could need. We had all kitchen appliances to make meals and an endless supply of towels, which was so helpful. I cannot say enough how amazing this property is and how pleased we were to stay here. Thank you so much for such an amazing stay! We hope to come back soon!

Total privacy with a spectacular view

Sans Souci villa was incredible, and the host, Sam, could not have been nicer or more attentive. She helped us navigate the COVID rules and BVI bureaucracy before and during our stay; found us a nanny for our young children well ahead of our trip; met us on our arrival and escorted us to the villa; and responded promptly when we had random questions about the house or anything needed troubleshooting. As for the place, I don't think I've stayed anywhere with a more dramatic, beautiful, panoramic view. The rooms are well appointed, tastefully decorated, and everything about the house seemed designed to be deeply relaxing. We would definitely stay here again. Three items to know before you go: - The pool is not heated, which is totally fine for swimming (it gets comfortably warm) but the thing that looks like a hot tub is the same temp as the rest of the pool, at least as of June 2021. - The wifi wasn't amazing anywhere on Tortola. Sam did what she could, including sending IT guys to the house and replacing the router (!), but it seemed to be a general challenge on the island and not really specific to the villa. If you just need email, text, and streaming video, you'll be fine; two people videoconferencing for work at the same time was dicey. - The roads/hills on Tortola are nuts, and the steep drive up to any of the villas with views will have you sitting up and paying attention. It is well worth the spend to get all-wheel drive and something like a jeep or full-size suv.

The house was amazing-- just as in the photos! The check in process was easy and Sam and her crew were awesome- (met us at our car rental and took us to the home). Someone was always available to answer questions if needed and they were very prompt in responding to any questions. The views from the house were stunning! Wifi worked great. The house had beach chairs, noodles, beach umbrella, maps, etc. The kitchen had everything you could ever need, lots of supplies, washer, dryer etc. (and auto generator in case power went out). Beds were super comfortable and AC worked great-although we preferred to leave the windows open and let the fabulous breeze cool down the house. Location very close to West End and the marina area. Very easy to get to the beautiful beaches and places to eat. We absolutely loved the house, the pool and deck and the unbelievable views from evey room! We will be back! Book it-you will not regret:)

A very homely yet spacious property with gorgeous views. It's exactly what it says on the listing. I would highly recommend this property and given the chance would like to book again! Pictures can’t even begin to do this place justice! Was the most gorgeous house I have ever stayed using AirBNB. The location is mind-blowing once you get there. Great if you wanna get away for a week to relax and enjoy the best views, esp sunsets, on Tortola. Better be good at driving on the left and be OK with the steepest roads you have ever been on in your life if you plan on driving on the island. Get a 4WD!

I honestly think this house may have the most spectacular view on Tortola! The verandas were marvelous and it is high enough on the hillside to have a breeze at all times so you can open the house wide to the cool air. The house was sparkling clean had everything we needed, and the few issues we had were addressed rapidly by Sam and her staff.

One note: when I said 'high on the hillside' I really mean a *very steep* hill. It's not a hill to walk up and down (we tried .... once), and driving it is not for the faint of heart either. Be prepared for single car width steep switchbacks - your reward is the really incomparable view of St. John and the islands to the west!

This property is incredible. The views are breathtaking. We couldn't get enough of those amazing views from the pool area or the double decks. The house is very secluded and very well appointed. It has everything you need. The bathrooms are very spacious and the beds comfortable. The outdoor grill is great. The infinity pool is incredible and the hot tub a big plus. I really enjoyed driving the Jeep up the steep hills to get to the property, but I recommend a 4x4 or relying on the capable local drivers to get you there. Overall, an amazing stay!
