ST BERNARD’S HILL HOUSE – total privacy & luxury in this spectacular villa w/pool & gym in Belmont
The closest thing you’ll get to paradise, St Bernard’s Hill House is absolute bliss. Privately situated in a prestigious 8-acre estate atop one of Tortola’s verdant tropical mountains, there are unparalleled ocean & island views in every corner.
The perfect villa for groups, the layout is simultaneously both private & sociable. 5 🛏️’s & 5🛁’s are spread over 4 villas with the Main Villa bringing everyone together at the centre.
Our team at Villas of Tortola would love to welcome you! 😍
Not just a villa, St Bernard’s Hill House is more of an experience. Its 320° ocean views over Soper’s Hole Marina, Frenchman’s Cay, Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Smugglers Cove, Long Bay & Belmont Pond, Norman Island, St Croix & St John really are spectacular. Sprawling over 4 villas on an 8-acre estate, there’s a place for every time of the day whether it’s having a cold beer in the sparkling pool, doing your morning stretches on the yoga deck, enjoying a massage in the spa room or having a starlit dinner on the outdoor dining deck.
🛋️ LIVING AREAS:
The Main Villa is the heart of the home at St Bernard’s Hill House. A huge living area welcomes you with plenty of soft seating & a choice of glimmering ocean views or a large flat-screen TV to watch. High pitched ceilings & arched doorways (which leads out to the spacious wrap-around veranda) flood the room with light & air. A calm neutral colour scheme, dark woods, artwork by well-known international artists, hanging lanterns created by local craftspeople & photography of the islands by a local artist create the ultimate sense of Caribbean luxury. Beautifully arranged flowers featuring blooms & foliage from the gardens adorn every corner.
Next, the kitchen. Expect top of the range appliances & everything you (or a chef) could need for whipping up a quick breakfast or spending the day preparing a special dinner. There’s a huge stainless steel double fridge/freezer, 6 burner stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, drip-style & Breville coffee makers just to name a few. Plus all the pots, pans, glasses & utensils you could ask for! Cooking up a storm can get hot so you also have the rare luxury of AC in this room.
Sandwiched between the living room & kitchen is the indoor dining room. Another generously sized room, there’s plenty of room at the table for 10 & the added bonus of a bar area to mix up a pre-dinner cocktail. Why not enjoy this while listening to some tunes on the built-in Sonos sound system.
The Spa room is tucked away just off the entrance hall in the Main Villa. Two massage tables mean you can enjoy a couples massage. There really is nothing more relaxing than getting pampered in the comfort of your own villa.
All the above is bordered by the expansive wrap-around veranda (more on that later…)
Just a short sunlit stroll across the driveway will take you to the gym. There’s everything you need here for a great workout – treadmill, elliptical, weights, yoga balls & matts, a TV & crucially, AC.
🛏️ BEDROOMS:
No arguing over bedrooms necessary as all of them are private sanctuaries with cosy beds, luxurious linens, AC, ceiling fans, ocean views, ensuite bathrooms, tea & coffee facilities, mini fridges, flat-screen TVs, access to outdoor spaces & glorious ocean views.
1) THE MAIN VILLA: The primary suite resides in the main villa, but remains a private retreat. The spacious room is tastefully decorated with a 4-poster king bed taking centre stage. You’ll find a flat-screen TV as well as access to a private corner of the wrap-around veranda with plenty of comfy seating for a morning coffee & 2 sun loungers to catch some rays on. Screen doors allow you to keep the ocean breezes flowing through whilst avoiding those pesky bugs. A spacious ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, free-standing bathtub & large walk-in closet tops of this self-contained suite.
2) THE PALM VILLA: A totally private bedroom suite, just wander through the palms to find this tropical retreat. Another beautiful & tastefully decorated room, the cool neutrals & ocean views from the private veranda create a feeling of total peace & calm. Handily, the king-bed in this room can also be made up as two XL twins. The ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower overlooks Jost Van Dyke & there’s a large walk in closet for all your clothes. A mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker & kettle top off this secluded sanctuary.
3) THE ALLAMANDA VILLA: This villa is versatile & perfect for those with young children. Lockable, interconnected doors & a split-level veranda give you the option to use the space as one complete villa, keep the two villas totally separate, or enjoy somewhere in-between! The first bedroom has a king-sized bed (can be made as two XL twins), ensuite bathroom with double sinks & large walk-in shower, walk-in closet, mini fridge, flat-screen TV & incredible views over Frenchman’s Cay & Soper’s Hole. The second bedroom has a separate entrance (if you choose to use it) queen-sized bed, ensuite bathroom with double sinks & large walk-in shower, walk-in closet, flat-screen TV, a kitchenette with Nespresso coffee machine, sink & kettle & the same incredible views over Frenchman’s Cay & Soper’s Hole.
4) ORCHID VILLA: The Orchid Villa is the furthest villa from the main house. A short sunny stroll down the driveway, perfect for those seeking more privacy. Again you’ll find a king-sized bed (can be made as two XL twins), ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, walk-in closet, flat-screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, mini fridge & gorgeous ocean views from a private veranda. Soak in the view from the comfort of your bed taking in Norman Island, St Croix (approx. 80 miles away and visible on a clear day), Frenchman’s Cay and St John. It’s (arguably) the best place to enjoy the sunrise.
☀️ STEP OUTSIDE:
The outside spaces at St Bernard’s Hill House are just as spectacular as in the inside. There are so many tranquil hidden corners in the beautifully & meticulously landscaped grounds perfect for both sun & shade bathers. Looked after by the talented Radesh, the grounds are bursting with colour from the bougainvilleas, hibiscus, plumbago, ferns, cacti, aloe & palms.
Bordering the Main Villa is an expansive veranda outdoor dining table, comfy seating & a bonus outdoor TV. This veranda is a magical place to enjoy dinner under the stars, or a morning coffee watching the boats sail in & out of Soper’s Hole. There’s 2 Weber gas BBQ’s, why not try grilling up some local Anegada lobster? Just below is the spectacular yoga deck. Doing your morning stretches on top of a mountain overlooking the Caribbean Sea is the most perfect start to the day! You’ll also find comfy cushioned seating & loungers to kick back and relax on. A hammock hangs in a shady corner, begging to be your afternoon nap spot.
The pool deck is surely where you’ll be spending much of your time, with comfy cushioned loungers, dining table, plenty of sun umbrellas, handy mini fridge & half bathroom. The infinity edge pool has the option of heating (sometimes preferred in the winter months) The views stretch over to Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Cay, Smugglers Cove, Long Bay & Belmont Pond. What a perfect place to spend an afternoon.
Guests have sole access to the entire property. The property is gated & very private.

🚗 Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 12 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car & Jeep Rentals is the easiest car rental company to work with online.
