VISTA DO MAR SEAVIEW – apartment w/pool, 4min walk to beach & bars in Long Bay, West End

With stunning views of Jost Van Dyke & several of the other beautiful BVI’s, Vista Do Mar is one of a collection of free-standing villas nestled into the slopes of Long Bay. The entire development is surrounded by bright, tropical landscaping & bordered by an idyllic mile long beach. Convenience is a rarity in Tortola, but here you can simply take stroll down to white sands, turquoise waters & beachfront restaurants.

Space
LIVING AREAS:
An airy open-plan kitchen and living room filled with sunlight and attractive Caribbean furnishings is only separated by a sociable breakfast bar and island. The kitchen area has all the essentials for self-catering. The living room offers comfortable seating for those moments of downtime, ample work space and, if you can bear to tear your eyes away from the glistening ocean view, Smart TV, FLOW cable TV and hi-speed WIFI.

BEDROOM:
The bedroom and bathroom continue on with the light and breezy feeling of the suite, with plenty of space, a king-sized bed, AC, shower and closet space. Of course, you’ll be met with ocean views here too as the large glass doors slide open onto a little balcony.

STEP OUTSIDE:
What really steals the show at SeaView is the spacious and much sought-after pool and BBQ deck. Bordered by hibiscus hedges and overhanging bougainvillea, you’ll feel as though you’re in your own private tropical paradise. There are poolside sun loungers for catching those rays, but also a covered area for those who are more comfortable in the shade. Under here you’ll find a teak dining table and chairs, perfect for enjoying alfresco dinners in the warm breeze. This outdoor space really is the envy of its neighbours!

Seaview is the downstairs suite of Vista Do Mar Villa and shares an entrance with The Penthouse.

Notes
Vista Do Mar can be rented as an entire villa, or as two separate one bed apartments: The Penthouse and Seaview. Check out our separate listings for the Penthouse and entire villa for up to 6 guests.

HOUSEKEEPING: is once midweek. All linen and towels will be changed and a general cleaning will be done. Daily housecleaning can be arranged at your own expense.

Neighborhood
Vista Do Mar is located in the exclusive but welcoming neighbourhood of Long Bay in the West End of Tortola. It has a friendly community feel with a good mix of residents and tourists in the area. You’ll be just minutes away from Long Bay’s beach and various wonderful amenities.

LONG BAY (300 yards away)
At Long Bay you’ll find a mile-long stretch of white sand & turquoise waters & a selection of beachfront refreshment options – 1748 Restaurant, Tropical Fusion, Johnny’s Beach Bar & 1748 Coffee Shop. If you’re feeling energetic there’s Long Bay Beach Resort’s Tennis & Pickleball courts. A day pass will buy you hours of fun! Gym passes also available as well as a spa for a little pampering. You can also purchase a pool pass for the day ($100 pp incl $75 food & beverage credit & access to the pool. Under 12’s are free)

APPLE BAY (0.7 miles away)
A little village with world-class winter surf and a handful of bars and restaurants (Sebastian’s Seaside Grille, Sugar Mill, Tramonti) for all occasions.

SMUGGLER’S COVE (1.3 miles away)
Smuggler’s Cove is idyllic & perfectly sheltered by its vibrant reef which provides sensational snorkeling & is home to Patricia’s laid-back beach bar. *cruise ship passengers sometimes come here so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

CARROT BAY (1.4 miles away)
A charming village where you’ll find local fisherman, fruit stalls, North Shore Shell Museum and D’Coal Pot restaurant.

WINDY HILL (2.3 miles away)
Head to Stoutt’s Lookout for a chilled beer with an incredible view over the bay or Bananakeet (Heritage Inn) restaurant for one of the best dinner spots to watch the sunset on island.

SOPER’S HOLE MARINA (2.9 miles away)
Here you’ll find a great selection of restaurants (Omar’s Coffee House, Admiral’s Pub & Pusser’s Landing), a well-stocked grocery store, boat charter companies, shops, Driftwood Spa & more. West End Ferry Terminal is opposite (where you can catch ferries & water taxis to fellow British Virgin Island Jost Van Dyke and US Virgin Islands St John & St Thomas). Enquire with Soper’s Hole Marina & Lighthouse Marina for dock space if you have a boat.

CANE GARDEN BAY (3.6 miles away)
The buzziest beach on island, you’ll find a whole variety of Restaurants & Bars (Indigo Beach House, Elms, Paradise Bar, Myett’s plus many more) lining the water. You’ll also find a small grocery store, a white sand beach with calm swimming & options for watersports & Callwood’s Rum Distillery. *all these amenities mean that the cruise ship passengers come here, so look online for the “BVI cruise ship schedule” to avoid the busier days.

Our role is to make sure that the property is always in tip-top condition & that you have the best vacation possible. Tortola is our home, we know our villas inside-out & we’re happy to answer any questions you may have about the property ahead of time.

Transit
TERRANCE B. LETTSOME AIRPORT (EIS) (18 miles away)
is on Beef Island in the East End of Tortola (connected by bridge). It’s the only airport on Tortola and where you’ll fly into.

WEST END FERRY HARBOUR (3 miles away)
The closest place to catch a ferry to connect you to the US Virgin Islands (St Thomas & St John) and fellow BVI Jost Van Dyke

Although there are ferries to connect you to other islands, the public transport in Tortola is basically non-existent and there’s so much to go and see but taxis add up quickly. Tortola is only 14 miles long by 3 miles at its widest, but it’s a mountainous island and the roads can be quite rugged. We can help you to reserve a 4WD SUV or direct you to recommended local car rental companies who understand that good 4WD vehicles are mandatory to explore with confidence. They can offer delivery to your port of entry or villa (we can help organise you a taxi to take you to the property) & carry a selection of cars & jeeps. Jerry’s Car Rental is our favourite and the easiest car rental company to work with online.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations and any request for changes to your reservation (such as date changes or changes in the number of persons) must be made in writing by email and will be dealt with on a case for case basis.

- For cancellations received 61 days or more prior to your arrival 10% of your rental amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.

- For cancellations received 60 days or less prior to arrival 100% of your TOTAL is forfeited. If we’re able to
re-book the villa to another guest we will return to you 80% of the rent paid by the new guests for the
nights rebooked (the nights might be rented at a “last minute” discounted rate that’s less than you
originally paid).

- There will be no refund made for late arrivals or early departures.

Deposit Policy

PAYMENT POLICY
Once you reserve a property a deposit of 50% is due to confirm the reservation. The balance of 50% + the refundable damage deposit must be paid in full at least 60 days prior to your arrival. *If paying by credit card, Refundable Damage Deposits will not be charged until arrival.
