Flamingo Sunset is perfect for anyone wanting a taste of the Caribbean lifestyle. Spectacular views of Jost Van Dyke and neighbouring islands and the indoor/outdoor flow are the key elements with every room leading to a deck or porch. Furnished throughout with striking Balinese teak furniture, the decor is more of a tasteful nod to the Tropics – the stunning views take centre stage.
Equal parts attractive, comfortable and relaxing, Flamingo Sunset is perfect for large groups. You’re elevated enough to have far-reaching views but close enough to sea-level to be able to access the beach easily, even by foot it’s just a 10 minute walk down to Long Bay and maybe 15 minutes back (uphill some of the way!)
Fully air-conditioned throughout, the abundance of glass sliding doors and windows brings the outdoors in if you feel the need to keep cool in the AC. And if you prefer to let in the soft coastal breezes open up to allow a soothing flow with screen doors in the living room and 2 bedrooms on the upper entry floor.
The upper entry level has vaulted ceilings throughout the main living area and the 2 bedrooms which are accessed to the left and right. The custom cabinetry and kitchen island make the kitchen an attractive feature of this living space with a dining table and comfortable seating area. A second alfresco dining option is conveniently located just through the glass sliding doors and overlooking the pool.
The master bedroom and 2nd bedrooms are located either side of the living area on the main floor. The Master offers a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a corner bath. The 2nd bedroom has 2 twins beds that can be made up as a king, and a bathroom with shower.
The lower level and pool deck is accessed by exterior stairs on the North side of the villa, from the main dining porch to a second shaded alfresco dining table located poolside accompanied by sun loungers for the sun-seekers!
The 3rd and 4th bedrooms are located either side of the pool deck, one furnished with a comfortable king bed and the other with twin beds that can be made up as a king. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom of course, one of these bathrooms can be unlocked to access directly from the pool deck if you wish. (*Please note these bedrooms are not suitable for younger children as you must exit the house and use exterior stairs to reach them).
For your convenience we have 2 x single foam pull-outs in one of the bedrooms for a 9th and 10 guest, a washer and dryer is available for your use, wifi and a SmartTV with Netflix in the living room.
There’s an automatic-start generator in case of power outages.

We’ve rented this villa the last two years for a family winter break. It works really well for that. The main level has two very spacious bedrooms, two baths and a large living space. The indoor dining table seats 8, but who cares. Slide the door open to the terrace where you can eat breakfast outside and look west over Smuggler’s Cove, or north to Jost Van Dyke.
On the lower level, there are two more bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. One bathroom has an exterior door, which is a huge plus when the children playing in the pool suddenly need to go. The pool gets sunlight most of the day, so the water is an inviting temperature. Some days we don’t even bother leaving the house.
But if you do want to venture out, Smuggler’s Cove is a very short drive away. Few cruise ship day trippers go here, so it is pleasantly uncrowded. Or, you can head east towards Cane Garden Bay and have lunch at the restaurants on the beach. After the day in the sun there, back to the house.
While everyone showers off the salt water, you can enjoy a drink on the terrace while watching the sun set. Some nights you go out (try Omar’s in Soper’s Hole and D’Coal Pot in Carrot Bay), but eating at home and getting the kids to bed early is also an option. When all is quiet, sit outside by the pool and look at the stars. You are high enough above Belmont Pond so that the air is wonderfully mosquito free. Maybe turn on the pool lights and have a late swim. Suits optional.
Compared to many villas on Tortola, Flamingo Sunset is incredibly accessible. The road there has no hairpin switchbacks, gentle curves, and it is only two minutes off the main road. It’s easy to reach in the dark, which is a huge plus for first time visitors. Yet, when you arrive you get the sense that you are alone on the hill. (Tony A 2.16.2023)
We had a wonderful time at Flamingo Sunset even though we had only booked a few nights before a week on Jost, but the villa was great in all aspects, spacious, clean, comfortable, and the decks, pool and views were top notch. I rented Flamingo Sunset for a birthday celebration with 7 other friends. I cannot say enough good things about this rental! There was enough space for everyone to spread out and the views were just phenomenal. We enjoyed several sunsets at the large table on the upper deck and the pool was refreshing and very big (even had all of the pool toys!). The house was well resourced, kitchen was well stocked, and the chairs and towels made for lazy days at the beach . We even arranged for Driftwood Spa to come to the house for massages on the balcony. I would highly recommend provisioning ahead so you have essentials waiting for you (we used Riteway) and definitely order Roti from Pinky (best we had on island). The Belmont/West End area felt private and off the beaten path but close to everything g. The roads across the island and leading to the house take some getting used to, but we got the hang of it quickly and were met upon our arrival to show us the way. The house was perfect for our group! Spacious and clean. Had everything we needed in the kitchen! Easy access to lots of great restaurants and beaches! The pool was wonderful! The driveway takes some getting used to. Managers were fantastic. Next time we will plan better with their recommendations and referrals for car rental and boating reservations. Grocery delivery and cab driver were GREAT. We had a great time. Two of the bedrooms only have access to the main house by way of the pool deck and up a set of stairs. We stayed at the property for two weeks. The check in process couldn’t have gone any simpler. If there was anything, we needed the hosts were immediate to respond and take care of our needs. The location was perfect. A very short drive down to the beaches and restaurants of Long Bay. We would highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a vacation in the BVI’s.
