One of the closest villas to the beautiful Smugglers Cove Beach, this cute little house is a great deal! Lounge by the pool and enjoy the views or stroll to the beach in less than 5 minutes…
The living room and kitchen are fully screened and open directly to the covered porch with dining table and gorgeous views and sunsets. The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge, gas stove, blender, toaster etc. The living room has a smartTV with Netflix (no cable or satellite) although most people prefer to be outside on the comfortable chairs enjoying the gentle breezes and the sound of the tree frogs, crickets and the ocean.
The master bedroom is comfortably sized and offers AC, a queen-size bed and glass doors at the end of the bed opening to reveal the beautiful ocean view. It is in a separate building to the main house and has an ensuite bathroom with shower.
The 2nd bedroom is in the main building (so it is not suitable for younger children who need to be closer to their parents) and also air-conditioned. The beds can be conveniently made up as 2 twins or a king. There is a window seat, closet and writing desk in this bedroom. There is a bathroom in the main building with shower.
This villa is equipped with wifi, beach chairs, beach umbrella and cooler and a charcoal BBQ (guests to provide charcoal). AC in both bedrooms only. Washer and dryer. SmartTV, no cable.. 4WD vehicle necessary.
Otis House is located at Smugglers Cove, West End where many of the rental villas have been built so we have a great selection of restaurants within 10-15 minutes drive of the villa. DINING OPTIONS: Tropical Fusion and 1748 on the beach in Long Bay. Sebastians on the Beach, Tramonti and The Sugar Mill for fine dining in a beautiful historical setting in Apple Bay. Da Coal Pot on the waterfront in Carrot Bay, Bananakeet (top of Windy Hill for the best sunset views), Stoutt’s Lookout (top of Windy Hill) for great views and very informal BBQ etc, Omars Coffee House and Omars Fusion at Soper’s Hole. Bustling Cane Garden Bay with it’s selection of restaurants, bars and live music, is just a 15 minute drive. GROCERIES & ATTRACTIONS: C&D convenience store is just over Zion Hill and at Soper’s Hole you’ll find Harbour Market (a well-stocked branch of the island’s main grocery store, Riteway), along with gift shops and Island Surf and Sail for all your water toy rentals. Sage Mountain is a 20 minute drive and offers beautiful National Park trails at a slightly cooler temperature due to the elevation and shade of the rainforest-like terrain. BEACHES: Long Bay Beach is 1 mile long of white sand – perfect for walking off the cocktails and coconut shrimp or conch fritters! The best areas for swimming are near the middle and the 2 ends of the beach. Pelican Point is a large rock protruding from the water in the middle of Long Bay, great for snorkeling out to on calm days. Apple Bay offers world class surfing when the conditions are right. Smugglers Cove is a protected spot that usually offers calm waters – perfect for the less energetic among us and perfect for snorkelling the coral reefs where you can spot all kinds of sea-life.

We had privacy with very close beach access, great restaurant recommendations (Indigo and Bananakeet) and everything we could want. We made some of our own meals and the kitchen was very well stocked including salt and pepper. We looked up a YouTube video of how to make the blender work. Bring your own water. Nigel’s beach bar had cheep drinks and expensive food that took forever to be made but we were not in a rush. He’s a weird dude, very world’s out to get him and destroy his business vibes. Our Jimny rental, which was recommended by the host, from Jerry’s was perfect for the wildly steep and rugged roads on the island. 4 WD necessary and don’t burn out your breaks on the down hills. The car was waiting for us at the airport and we left it there when we departed. The house even had bug spray, itch cream, some sunscreen and other nice essentials. A cleaner came midweek to change sheets and tidy. A wonderful private stay on a beautiful island! (Alair B April 28th 2024)
The location is truly amazing and only a short walk to Smuggler’s Cove – a pristine beach that felt secluded and nearly private! The place felt like home and we were greeted by Pinky who showed us the place and provided us with delicious Rotis that we ordered in advance (I would highly recommend)! The views from the house are amazing and the outdoor space offers various places to relax, unwind and enjoy the views. We loved cooling off in the pool which was an amazing bonus! We’d recommend stopping by C&D market and grabbing a couple gallons of water before driving up to the house since the water isn’t potable. We’d also recommend visiting the neighboring beach – Long Bay while keeping an out for flamingos in the lagoon directly across from the ocean. Bring binoculars! All around, wonderful stay and we’d 100% recommend this place! Wonderful host and beautiful location! (Danielle M airbnb August 5th 2023)
We really enjoyed the closeness to the best beach in Tortola, and all the super amenities – outside shower, swimming pool and killer sunset! Washer and Dryer were great benefits as well as all of the beach gear – felt like being at home. Staff were responsive and helped with all requests. We are a family of three, and a separate bedroom gave our teen son the sense of his own vacation – we were close, but had the chance to spread out. Best of both worlds. Restaurants are not walkable, but there are numerous choices within a 15 minute drive. Overall – a great solution for a group of 4 people or less. Thank you Sam, Sharlene and Louise! House is very quietly located on the west end of the island. You need a car. Beach with two hearty beach bars is a 2-minute walk away, where you can also snorkel. Other restaurants, which are also open in the evening, can be reached in about 20-30 minutes on foot. (Larissa K airbnb May 17th 2023)
We recently spent two weeks in Otis House. It was the perfect fit for our family of three and had everything we needed. The location really can’t be beat. We especially enjoyed being so close to Smugglers Cove, which is the ideal Caribbean beach. We were only about 15 minutes from Cane Garden Bay, which we also thoroughly enjoyed, and the West End ferry, which we used for several trips to Jost Van Dyke. If I had one complaint, it would be that the view from the pool is too perfect. We had a difficult time tearing ourselves away and never made it out early enough for a sunset dinner. No matter…..I’m convinced we had the best view on the island. Watching the sun set over Jost Van Dyke every night was pure magic. (Theresa C 7.21.2023)
We really enjoyed the private pool. The house was very well equipped and the aircon in the rooms was very much needed. It was great having our meals in the outside patio overlooking the ocean. It is a great location being able to walk to Smuggler’s cove beach, which is one of the best beaches in Tortola. Sam and her team were really helpful with recommendations for rental cars, and questions about the ferries. They waited for us at the ferry and drove ahead of us to the house, this was really helpful! (Silvia G airbnb 5.1.2023)
