This property is stunning! Such beautiful views of the hill sides & ocean! Very quite & private location. Home is cozy & comfortable. I think we spent 80% of our time on the veranda! We had a few hiccups but Sharlene was excellent in resolving any issues. Roads take a little getting use to at first but just go slow, you’ll be fine. Scotland is such a gem, we will return hopefully sooner than later! (Jacqueline M vrbo 3.9.23)
Sam and her entire team were absolutely wonderful. We booked this trip last minute and was able to pull everything off in 2 days ONLY because of Sam’s help getting there. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the lovely housekeeper Louise, Pinky who delivered homemade rotis and Sharlene with our private car that was delivered right to the door, along with a refrigerator full of groceries. We loved the home so much, we hardly left. It was so peaceful and exactly what we needed to decompress. We will definitely be back! (Jena W airbnb 3.18.2023)
We had a fantastic stay here! The view was breathtaking and never got old. We spent most late afternoons in the pool staring out over the water. The drive to the place is not for the faint of heart but we were prepared for that and it was well worth it for the seclusion and views. We would absolutely stay here again! Our stay at the Villa in Scottland BVI was extremely enjoyable, at no small part to the efforts of the property manager, Sharlene. Assisting in the lead up to our stay, Sharlene helped us secure a car rental, answered every conceivable question, and even met us in town and lead us to the property. The first time you enter the villa is a special experience. The house has been recently updated (not pictured in the home photos) and is even more comfortable and accommodating. The front deck was remade to be larger and covered, and houses additional dining and seating options. It is the best spot to take in the views and survey the goings-on of the beach. The beach is a hidden gem. In the 7 days of our stay, the number of beach goers did not exceed 20 (most days, it was more like 7-10). To echo other reviewers, the roads leading to the property are indeed rough and require a rugged 4WD vehicle for repeated use. A normal 4×4 will work, but clearance may be an issue at points. We chose to view the condition of the road as adventurous, though it may affect how often you choose to venture out (it did ours). There were a few times that we left a fully latched door, only to return to a door that was slightly ajar. That can be unsettling, until you realize that the road you just traveled is just as much a security measure. All in all, the house is one of a kind, and we look forward to staying again in the future. We’ll be sure to fly direct, next time, as the ferry experience is generally comparable to flying, without the consistent travel times. Trust me when I tell you, the Villa at Scottland is worth every penny, though some of those pennies might be well spent on gravel 🙂 (Shane S vrbo 5.24.2022)
House was everything we hoped it would be! View and layout were perfection. We so enjoyed gorgeous rainbows everyday over Smugglers Cove. Loved the peace and serenity and the car ride to the villa did not disappoint. Pool was a bit chilly but the beach water was warm and welcoming. Fantastic week in paradise. (Nancy M vrbo 12.5.2021)
When I began my search for our recent vacation, I had not really zeroed in on where we would go. However, Scottland Villa was among the villas that came up in my search and after seeing those pictures, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. Could it really be as beautiful as it was in the pictures? I messaged Sam, the property manager, with some questions I had because Tortola had just announced new quarantine policies for vaccinated travelers – which we were. Sam was so responsive and it made me feel even more confident that Scottland Villa was the right place for our first post-covid vacation so we decided to book! Sam answered all my questions, each time I had one, and arranged for our pick up at the airport, coordinated grocery delivery and even helped us get our travel applications approved (and she was amazing while we were vacationing as well). Once we arrived, the best taxi driver picked us up (Eric truly is the best!) and we started the drive to Scottland. My wife and I were very excited to actually arrive and see this place in person . . . It was even more beautiful than the pictures or my imagination had created. The architecture and style of the Villa is romantic and the views are breathtaking. We put down our luggage, opened the fridge to our groceries, grabbed the blender, made a frozen drink and got poolside as soon as we could! The pool was so clean and relaxing and as you lay in the loungers after a dip in the pool, your view is ocean and islands on one side and beautiful bright flowers and foliage on the other. The first night (while quarantined) we used the awesome outside grill and finished up cooking the meal in the kitchen (which as someone who cooks all the time I can say the kitchen was perfect!). The next morning we were back by the pool by 8 am spending the day reading, cooling off in the pool, drinking pina coladas and snacking! By the time we received our quarantine release email, we didn’t really care about leaving! And so we stocked up on groceries and supplies so we could spend our time cooking, napping and reading by the pool, and taking advantage of our time at Scottland Villa because we knew once we left, we would miss it so much! It was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever had because of the privacy of the Villa, the beautiful views, the aura and style of the house, the pool and the view and peacefulness of Smuggler’s Cove. We look forward to returning when we need to take a deep breath again! (Bergan W vrbo 5.30.2021)
The picture does not even do this villa justice. It is even more amazing in person. In fact , we booked a return trip in Feb. It is impeccably maintained, and anything you need is just a text away. The beach is just a 3 minute drive down the hill, tucked away in Smugglers Cove and is an awesome little snorkeling spot. Although you won’t ever want to leave the villa. The whole villa opens up and you are surrounded by the most beautiful views , from anywhere you are in the house. The kitchen is is very well equipped and opens up to a beautiful patio, if you like to cook, you won’t find a more beautiful spot for dinner, anywhere. Getting to the villa is a bit of challenge, so make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. But once you get to it , it is heavenly. It is very private, quiet and tucked away. (RJ H vrbo 8.13.2017)
My wife an I stayed at this beautifully located and appointed villa with everything you could ask for in accommodation from April 16-23, 2016. We have stayed at a number of holiday villas around the world and from our experience, most overstated their descriptions and / or have outdated photos attached. When we stayed at Villa Scottland we found that it is actually far better than described and pictured. Simply too beautiful for words. The support we received throughout the booking, check-in and checkout process was also first class. We would absolutely recommend this to others and are already planning our next visit. My wife and I got a chance to escape winter and stay at this property in late January. Let me start by saying that the pictures are exactly as it looks in person – gorgeous and classy. Everything about this place was perfect for a romantic getaway. Pre-ordering groceries helped out tremendously to get our vacation rolling. Renting a jeep/suv is important and made the trip up and down fun. The privacy is unbelievable and it was cool to go down to Smuggler’s Cove to see the villa from the beach. We are planning to revisit this villa in future for our annual Caribbean getaway. We highly recommend any couple looking for that special vacation to check this villa. (John O vrbo 1.18.2016)
My wife and I stayed at Scotland for our honeymoon. The place is beautiful and the views are unbelievable. It sits above smugglers cove and it’s completely secluded and quiet. The beach at smugglers is about 5 minutes away and is one of the nicest beaches in the area. The house itself is great. The outdoor pool and patio area is huge and is perfect for cookouts. We didn’t use the downstairs bedroom but the upstairs bedroom was really comfortable and spacious. The caretaker Sam was great and answered any questions or requests that we made. We will definitely be back. (Matthew M vrbo 10.16.2016)
